Meet the Choreographer!
Emily (Bird) Eschhofen, of Bryan, OH, is passionate about movement. She is a dance teacher, choreographer, and yoga teacher. She grew up dancing locally and then went on to study dance at Eastern Michigan University. While majoring in Dance, Emily performed, choreographed, and managed dance performances. She was also named Dance Major of the Year while at Eastern Michigan. After graduation from EMU in 2010, Emily moved back to her home town of Bryan. Since then she has been teaching and choreographing dance in studios throughout northwest Ohio. Emily has studied and continues to study at various summer dance workshops and intensives including Bates Dance Festival in Lewiston, ME, Limón Summer Dance workshop in Brockport, NY, and Boulder Jazz Dance Workshop in Boulder, CO, among others. In 2014 Emily studied under Nan Giordano, artistic director of Giordano Dance Chicago, and has been certified to teach Level 1 of Giordano Jazz Technique. In addition to dance, Emily practices yoga and has completed her teacher training at Pure Yoga in Bryan, under the direction of Laura Juarez. Emily has also had the opportunity to travel and study with renowned yoga teachers: Leslie Kaminoff and Baron Baptiste. Emily is excited to be choreographing with FCF again this summer for The Little Mermaid.
